Every service we offer serves one goal: more booked jobs of the kind you want, at a cost per job you can live with. The five services below are the parts of trades marketing that actually move that number. Which one you start with depends on your trade's buying pattern, your season, and whether the problem is too few enquiries or too few of them becoming work.
-
Local SEO and Google Business Profile
Show up in the map pack and local results when people near you search for your trade.
-
Google Ads and Local Services Ads
Buy the searches that turn into booked jobs, and stop paying for the ones that don't.
-
Trade websites that convert
A site that turns a stranger on a phone into a call, a text or a quote request.
-
Reviews and reputation
A steady, honest flow of Google reviews that wins the close before you pick up the phone.
-
Social media and short video
Job-site video and before-and-after posts that make your crew the familiar name in town.
How to choose: three questions
Answer these honestly and the starting point usually picks itself.
- How fast does your customer decide? Urgent trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, locksmiths, garage doors) live and die by being found and answering quickly. Project trades (renovation, landscaping, painting, flooring, decks) need to be trusted, which takes portfolio, reviews and follow-up.
- Is the phone ringing but jobs aren't closing? Then more traffic will make it worse. Start with the website, reviews and your quote follow-up.
- Is the phone quiet? Then visibility comes first: Google Business Profile, local SEO and, if you need work this month, paid search.
Here is how that plays out across the 18 trades we work with:
| Trade group | Usually start with | Add next |
|---|---|---|
| Plumbers, electricians, HVAC, locksmiths, garage doors | Local SEO and Google Business Profile | Paid search and Local Services Ads where available |
| Roofers, eavestrough and siding, foundations and waterproofing, masonry and chimneys | Website with real project photos, plus reviews | Paid search during storm and thaw seasons |
| Renovators, carpenters, flooring, windows and doors, drywall and insulation | Website and reviews | Local SEO for each service, then video |
| Painters, landscapers, fencing and decks, concrete and paving | Website portfolio and seasonal paid search | Short video and before-and-after social posts |
The trade-by-trade playbook explains the reasoning for each trade in more depth.
Local SEO and Google Business Profile
This is where most trades should start. When someone types "electrician near me" or "roof leak repair Kelowna", the map results usually appear above the ordinary websites. Being there depends on a complete, accurate Google Business Profile, consistent business details across the web, a steady flow of reviews and a website with a page for each service you want found.
It takes months rather than days, but it keeps working when you stop paying. Read the local SEO service page for what's included and how we measure it.
Google Ads and Local Services Ads
Paid search buys you a place at the top today. It suits trades that need work quickly, have a clear high-value job to sell, or are entering a new area. The risk is paying for clicks that will never become jobs: people looking for DIY advice, jobs, or a town you don't serve.
We run tightly controlled campaigns built around booked-job tracking. See Google Ads and Local Services Ads.
Websites that convert
Your website is where a stranger decides whether to call you or the next name on the list. For trades, a good site is fast on a phone, shows real work, explains your process and prices honestly, and makes calling or texting a one-tap action. Most contractor sites we see fail on at least two of those.
See trade websites that convert for the page structure we use and the mistakes we fix most often.
Reviews and reputation
Reviews are the cheapest marketing a trades business has, and the one most often left to chance. A system that asks every satisfied customer at the right moment, in a way that respects Canada's anti-spam rules, will usually do more for your close rate than a new logo.
Social media and short video
Video works best for trades whose work is visible: roofing, landscaping, painting, decks, renovation. Short clips from the job site build familiarity before a customer ever needs you, and they give your Google profile and website fresh material. It is rarely the first thing to fund, but it's the one that makes your name the familiar one in town.
The rules we work to, whatever the mix
Whichever services you choose, the same rules apply: accounts are set up in your business's name, enquiries are tracked from first contact to booked job wherever your systems allow it, reports are written in plain language around calls, jobs and cost per job, and you can reach a senior strategist directly. What each plan covers in writing is on the pricing page. If you're not sure where you fit, call, text or email and we'll talk it through.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need all five services?
Rarely at the start. Most trades begin with two: their Google Business Profile and local SEO, plus either a better website or a review system. Paid search and video come once the foundation converts.
Which service brings the fastest results?
Paid search can produce calls within days of launch, because you are buying visibility. Local SEO and reviews take longer but keep working when you pause spending, so a sensible plan usually runs both.
Can I hire you for a single service?
Yes. Some owners only want their Google Business Profile and reviews fixed, or only want an ad account audited. We'll tell you honestly if one service on its own won't solve the problem you described.
Is the approach different for each trade?
The services are the same; the weighting is not. An electrician and a landscaper both need a Google Business Profile, but the landscaper needs a portfolio and a spring push, while the electrician needs to answer calls fast all year.
