What happens next

  1. Send a short note

Your business name, city and what you need.

  2. Get a reply

Ali or a senior strategist answers, usually the next business day.

  3. Plan the next step

If it fits, you get a clear proposal. If not, honest advice.

Hours and response time

Our hours are Mon–Fri 9–6 Pacific. We usually reply within one business day.

We work with trades in every province and territory, so here is what those hours mean where you are:

Where you are Our hours in your time
British Columbia, Yukon 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Alberta, Northwest Territories 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saskatchewan, Manitoba 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Saskatchewan does not change clocks, so it lines up with Alberta in summer)
Ontario, Quebec, Iqaluit Noon to 9 p.m.
New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Newfoundland 1:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Plenty of owners call us from the truck after the last job of the day. That's fine; it is part of why our hours run into the Eastern evening.

What to include in your first message

You don't need a brief. But a few facts let us give you a useful answer on the first call instead of a generic one. If you can, send:

  1. Your trade and the jobs you want more of. "Plumbing" is a start; "more water heater replacements and fewer drain snakes" is better.
  2. Your service area. The towns or neighbourhoods you actually want to drive to.
  3. Your average job value for the work you want more of, even a rough range.
  4. Your busy and slow months. Seasonality changes the plan more than almost anything else.
  5. Where work comes from now. Referrals, Google, a lead service, door hangers, repeat customers.
  6. Your website address and the name on your Google Business Profile, if you have them.
  7. What has gone wrong before, if you've worked with an agency that didn't deliver.

If you don't know some of these, say so. Finding out is part of the work, and our budget guide shows how to estimate them from your own invoices.

What happens next

The process is short and you stay in control of it.

  1. We reply by your preferred channel, usually within one business day, and set a time for the free 30-minute consultation.
  2. The consultation covers your numbers, your trade's buying pattern, and the two or three changes that would make the biggest difference. You'll get honest advice even if the answer is that you don't need us yet.
  3. A written proposal follows if it makes sense: which services we'd start with, what it costs, what we'll measure and when you should expect to judge it.
  4. You decide. Plans are month-to-month with 30 days' notice to cancel. Nothing starts until you say so.

Before you get in touch

A few things worth knowing so there are no surprises:

  • We are not a contractor. If you need a plumber, electrician or roofer for your own home, we can't send one. We market and advise trades businesses only.
  • We don't promise rankings or lead counts. We'll show you what our method produced for HVAC companies on the results page and the maths behind any plan.
  • Prices are published. Plans start at $1,999 per month, or $1,499 per month on annual billing, plus GST/HST by province. The pricing page explains what drives cost.
  • You own what we build. Websites, profiles and ad accounts are set up in your business's name.

Common questions about contracts, ownership and timelines are answered on the FAQ page.

Reaching us about something else

If you're a supplier, a partner, or a journalist writing about trades in Canada, the same number and email reach us. Put a one-line subject at the top so we can route it. For HVAC-specific work, you can also start at HVAC.Agency, which is part of the same group.

Trades.Marketing is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and led by Ali Sedighi, MBA. Read more about us.

Frequently asked questions

Is the first conversation really free?

Yes. The initial 30-minute consultation is free for eligible trades businesses and is separate from any paid plan. There is no obligation to sign anything afterwards.

Can I text instead of calling?

Yes. Text (604) 632-4959 with your trade, your town and one line about what you need. Many owners prefer it because they can reply between jobs.

What if I'm in a different time zone?

Our hours are Mon–Fri 9–6 Pacific, which is noon to 9 p.m. in Toronto and 1:30 to 10:30 p.m. in St. John's. Send a text or email any time and tell us when you are off the tools; we will work around it.

Will you share my details with anyone?

No. We use your details only to reply to you and, if you hire us, to do the work. We only email people who contact us first.
